Town of Salisbury

Salisbury Police Station

The Town of Salisbury commissioned HKT Architects, Inc. and Thompson Consultants,
Inc. to design a 21,000sf Police Station on a new site at 175 Beach Road
in Salisbury, MA. The existing Police Station was several decades old and was
undersized and inadequate for the challenges of modern police work.
The new Police Station includes state of the art facilities including new cells,
booking area, sally port, two-bay garage, communications & roll call rooms,
evidence and bulk evidence storage, fitness center, men’s and women’s locker
rooms, administrative space, conference rooms and an armory. The building
contains a first floor level Training Room with audio/visual capabilities that is
used for Police training and public meetings/events. The third floor includes the
potential for expansion of offices and storage in the future.
The police station  contains a new 911 call center. The electrical system within
the building was designed and built to comply with the NFPA 70 – Article 708
Critical Operations Power System (COPS) – the facility contains a generator and
a connection for a roll-up generator. The electrical system has been segregated
to power critical operations functions throughout a sustained outage.
The building contains state of the art communication equipment, security and
controls.
